We would spend the afternoon acclimatizing and exploring the area. We left at 4pm and we were back at around 6pm.

Day 3, 30th June Mwenzi Tarn Camp-Ascent to 4330m
A short but steep climb up grassy slopes offers superb views of this wilderness area. The vegetation zone ends shortly before we reach our next camp at Mawenzi Tarn spectacularly situated beneath the towering spires of Mawenzi. Hiking time was 4 hours and the habitat Moorlands.
